Medical Clearance
Pre-exercise screening and professional-clearance requirements for safe participation in ElitePTS services.
Contents
Screening supports safer exercise participation but does not provide a diagnosis or guarantee that activity is risk-free. When in doubt, consult a physician or qualified healthcare professional before training.
1. Purpose
ElitePTS uses pre-exercise screening to identify circumstances that may require professional guidance, program modification, or medical clearance before participation.
2. Pre-Exercise Screening
Complete the health and readiness questions presented during onboarding honestly and update your coach whenever your health status changes.
- Current symptoms, recent illness, injury, surgery, or hospitalization.
- Known cardiovascular, respiratory, metabolic, neurological, musculoskeletal, or other diagnosed conditions.
- Pregnancy or recent postpartum status.
- Medication that may affect heart rate, blood pressure, balance, alertness, hydration, or exercise tolerance.
- Any professional restriction on exercise or physical activity.
3. When Clearance Is Required
ElitePTS may require written clearance when screening responses, symptoms, professional restrictions, or material health changes indicate that proceeding without clinical guidance would be inappropriate. Clearance should state any limitations relevant to exercise participation; it does not need to disclose unrelated medical history.
Do not begin or resume training while experiencing unexplained chest discomfort, fainting, severe shortness of breath, acute neurological symptoms, or another potentially urgent condition. Contact local emergency services when appropriate.
4. Submitting Clearance
- Obtain documentation from the qualified professional responsible for your care.
- Ensure the document identifies permitted activity and any relevant restrictions or expiry date.
- Submit it only through the secure method provided by ElitePTS support or your assigned coach.
- Do not send unnecessary clinical records, insurance records, or unrelated diagnostic information.
Contact ElitePTS Support for the current secure submission method.
5. Privacy
Clearance information is used only to support participation and coaching decisions, is limited to authorized personnel, and is handled in accordance with the ElitePTS Privacy Policy. Email should not be used for sensitive documents unless ElitePTS specifically confirms an approved secure process.
6. Return to Training
Training resumes only after required documentation is received and the program can be delivered within the stated restrictions and the coach's professional scope. ElitePTS may recommend a different service or decline participation when safe delivery is not reasonably possible.
